How big are prarie dogs?

    The prairie dog is around football size (30 cm or 12 inches) and can live up to 5 years in the wild. Some species are endangered, specifically the Mexican prairie dog and Utah prairie dog. These became endangered because farmers used poison to kill them as they ate the same grass that cattle eat.
