Pheasants range from 21 to 36 inches in size. Their weight is usually around 3 pounds. Here’s a depiction of their size relative to a human:
The size of pheasants is largely determined by sex. Males are typically between 24-35 inches long–their tails alone account for 20 inches of that length. Females are usually smaller and have considerably shorter tails. Unsurprisingly, males weight more than females. Males usually weight 2-3 pounds and females are about 2 pounds.
