The North Pacific Giant Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) is widely considered to be the largest of octopus species. According to the wiki for “octopus” the adult North Pacific Giant averages about thirty pounds with an arm-span of 14 ft. One possible record claims one specimen weighed almost 600 lbs and had a 30 ft arm-span.
The giant octopus is the largest in the world. The largest ever caught weighed 156 pounds and was almost 23 feet.
