    The size can vary for different ice breaker ships. The first one is said to have been 167 feet long. According to a marine insight website, the 5 largest ice breaker ships are: USCGC Mackinaw (WLBB-30) with a length of 240 feet, RV Polarstern with a length of 387 feet, CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent with a length of 393 ft, USCGC Polar Sea (WAGB-11) which is 399 ft, and NS 50 Let Pobedy at 524 ft long.
