    A fuel rod is about 4 meters in length.  They are stacked together in bundles of 14 rods by 14 rods or 17 x 17.

    Fuel rods are usually around 16 feet long. Being bundled helps promote their efficiency as well as stability. Of all current practical fuel sources nuclear has the highest payload.
