Both male and female dung beetles are generally between .5-1 inch long, with the female being slightly larger. The male has a large horn extending from his head while the female has a tubercle instead. They can be found in animal feces (hence the name) and are thought to be beneficial in recylcing of the animal excrements. They have front legs used for digging and burrowing throughout the feces.
