Blue whales are not as social as some of the other cetaceans. While they can be found in pods of 50-60 individuals, they generally travel alone or in pairs.

Blue whales are most often seen in pairs, they also travel alone and in small groups. It is very rare to see blue whales in large pods, but they have been seen in larger pods which contained about 50 to 60 individuals. Blue whales can grow to length of 100 feet and can weigh about 200 tons. Their tongue can weigh as much as an elephant.
