That depends completely on what variety of ape you are talking about. There are Great Apes which include Gorillas and Chimpanzees and then there are the Gibbons which are also considered apes (they are called the Lesser Apes). Gorillas are apes and they are somewhat larger than average humans—females weigh about 220 pounds and males weigh about 100 more than females. Chimps are pretty close in size to us, but a little smaller on average. So the answer to your question is really all kinds of different sizes. But some are larger than us considerably, and some are smaller too!
