Cigarette’s contain over 4,000 different chemicals within them. When smoked, these chemicals are exhaled by the smoker into the atmosphere. These chemicals can drift into the atmosphere, but worse can effect people around us. When smoked indoors the chemicals can be much more harmful to individuals that breath the dirty air, especially children and seniors.

Another major problem of cigarettes is the litter associated with cigarette butts. Cigarette butts take 25-26 years to decompose. About 4.3 trillion cigarettes are litter across the world in a year with the United States accounting for more than 250 billion of those.
