How are wind turbines repaired and maintained?

    Wind turbines are sitting on very tall hollow tubes.  Workers climb up the inside of the tube to the top where they perform maintenance and repair.  In the event that a repair is needed to be done on the blade of a wind turbine, workers are actually lowered by rope to get the job done.  Here are a couple of pictures of workers doing some work on the blade of a turbine:
