If by we, you mean the United states – we do have a utility company that is running a pilot version of carbon sequestration at a coal plant in TX. They are converting carbon from smokestacks into baking soda. Researchers are still working on demonstrating that the different methods of carbon storing are safe and permanent as one of the concerns is leakage.
