The ozone layer helps protect us from much of the sun’s radiation. Other than that, protecting oneself from daily radiation is pretty much left up to the consumer. Sources like radon in homes, and radiation from x-rays, cell phones, microwaves, the food we eat and from the sun may all create health problems in the long run. The EPA maintains lists of common radiation sources. It is a good idea to limit your exposure to the sun and other sources, and to keep informed of where you are most likely to be exposed.
