How are we planning on using more ethanol in the United States in 2010 and the next decade?

It is very likely that we will be using more.  The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 mandates 12 billion gallons of biofuel for 2010, but the forecast is 22.7 billion gallons.  Most of this will be in the form of corn ethanol.

Mandates will continue to rise in the next two decades, with 15 billion gallons per year required in 2015 and 36 billion gallons in 2022.
