Ohio and California have started the process to pump carbon dioxide from underground in 2008. At that point we were unsure if it was possible to pump the CO2.
As of June 2010 scientists tried again to sequester carbon underground, so it will not be in the air, harming us. There is a geothermal plant in Iceland that is performing the experiments. If the pumping of the carbon is successful, more plants will be set up.
