How are the Vancouver Olympics trying to be green?

The Vancouver Olympics buildings are meeting very high greens standards.  One aspect of the Olympic Village in Whistler is using captured methane from a nearby landfill for energy, while the primary souce of heat for the village will be supplied from waste heat from the municipal waste water treatment plant.  Additionally, the Olympic village will meet LEED platinum ratings, while all the other building will meet LEEF gold ratings.  Apart from buildings, the Olympic committee has allocated a lot of funding towards hydrogen buses and infrastructure.
