It was a very late year for farmers throughout the midwest because it rained too much in the fall which slowed down their ability to harvest their fields. When I visited my folks for thanksgiving there was still a lot of corn standing in the fields which was unusual for this time of year.
Even so, once the last cornfields are harvested, this years crop is expected to be the second highest EVER (the highest on record is 2007).
Anyone else want to chime in about how the harvest went for other crops?
