Global warming causes extreme weather events, ocean temperatures to rise, and alters ocean currents, sea level, and ice coverage. This ultimately affects marine life and ocean ecosystems. For instance, sea life that is more accustomed to warmer temperatures were found to be more abundant, whereas a decline was found in sea life that was accustomed to colder temperatures. Many sea creatures are exposed at low tide, and so they are vulnerable to the strong effects of climate change. Also, as global warming may affect weather occurrences, tide pools could see a drastic change in movement.
