There are various bike advocacy groups that work within a city to support bike use. The LA County Bike Coalition is actively working with the local government to improve to make the roads more biking-friendly. They also provide resource guides for low income communities to integrate biking into their neighborhood.
Many cities, such as Toronto, Ontario, encourage cyclists by adding bicycle lanes to city streets, creating laws for their safety and existence, and simply making the roads safer. Often cities don’t need to do much more than to provide the means to ride. People are well aware that it can save precious time, frustration, and of course, money.
