How are the parenting styles different from culture to culture?

Well in the United States parents are much more open about things and relaxed about school work than Asian culture. In Asian, children have a duty to do well in school and will be reprimanded if they do not. They also have a lot more respect for their teachers because of this. Parents in Europe are even more relaxed.

Western countries, in general, often raise their children to be more independent, to strive to attain personal success. Many Eastern countries commonly instill community-based values, and children are raised to work for the overall good of the family, neighborhood, or cultural group. Of course, these are rather broad statements, but anthropologists and sociologists have found these similarities across numerous cultures.
