How are Solar Panels bad for the environment?

Solar panels provide clean and renewable energy, but like any technology, they do carry potential negative impacts. They require energy and raw materials, some toxic, for PV cells and hardware to be made and transported to their location of use. They use chemicals for the heating process that can be toxic if exposed. They have a lifespan, which will eventually create waste. But, they limit the need for drilling and mining of coal and oil, many parts are recyclable and the US has strict standards on the manufacturing and disposal of toxic substances.
