How are nail shops bad for the environment?

Nail products like nail polish, polish removers and artificial nail products contain lots of toxic chemicals. Some of these chemical have been suspected to cause cancer, reproductive harm, occupational asthma and other negative health effects. Nail salons across the country are beginning to ‘go green’ by including organic products, better ventilation systems, formaldehyde-free polishes, and so on. The EPA has even brought up the issue of environmental injustice and has hoped to diminish the negative effects of nail salons on health and the environment through grants and research.
