Mountains are formed by plate tectonics. The plates in our earth are constantly moving around, and when they collide, they can push together and fold on top of each other. This forms mountains at the area of collision.
Mountains are formed when at least two of the earth’s plates collide. The earth has 6 plates so constant collision creates mountains. There are different type of mountains and each possess more specific explanations for their creation.
