How are the functions of chloroplasts and mitochondria similar?

Mitochondria and chloroplasts are both organelles that are involved in the process of transforming energy.  Energy is first received in the form of sunlight, and the chloroplasts convert it into chemical energy in the form of sugars.  Later in the process, the mitochondria helps the process of respiration by converting sugar to ATP, a more usable form of energy.
