Insulated concrete forms (IFC’s) are one way that building of foundations of buildings has become more environmentally friendly. IFC’s are made of rigid foam and can be used to provide the shape for the concrete that will make the base of the house. Unlike traditional wall-forms, however, IFC’s stay as a part of the wall even after the concrete dries. THis saves on resources used because no plywood is used in making the wall-forms, and since the IFC’s can act as insulation there is little need to add extra material to insulate your foundation.
