Enzymes are helpful in a variety of ways in the environment.  They maintain unpolluted environments through the practice of waste management, as well as keep water supplies free from toxins.  They are used for research purposes.  Bacteria and fungi also contain enzymes that cause biochemical reactions that keep nature at its purest.
