Electromagnetic waves are always around us and we encounter them on a daily basis. Your favorite TV show or radio broadcast uses electromagnetic waves to transmit shows to your television/radio receiver. The doctor or dentist employs electromagnetic waves when x-raying patients. Electromagnetic waves are divided into two categories: long wave lengths and short wave lengths. Long wave lengths include microwave, tv and radio waves. Examples of short wave lengths include light, x-ray and uv rays.
