How is agriculture going to play a role in climate change?

Agriculture impacts climate change at all levels. Livestock such as sheep and cattle are a source of greenhouse gas emissions. Clearing land for grazing is responsible for a great deal of deforestation. Ecosystems already under stress due to climate change are more easily impacted by pollution from agriculture, which includes livestock waste and stream erosion, and pesticides. After leaving the farm, agricultural goods use fossil fuels in transportation and distribution. Packaged, finished products add to landfill waste. The sustainable agriculture movement seeks to address these concerns and minimize impacts on the environment.
