According to a UN report released last year, climate change and the resulting droughts have increased the percentage of malnourished children by 36 percent. This figure comes out to the birth of two million already malnourished children each year. Climate change has an indirect effect, as well, by directing attention away from malnutrition, a chronic condition in impoverished countries.
