Honey has been used for thousands of years to sweeten food. This viscious substance is produced by bees and cannot actually go bad! Since sugar has to be refined into the form we see it in, honey is much healthier not only for our bodies but for the environment as well!
Honey has antiseptic, antioxidant and cleansing properties in it. Sugar is considered without nutritional value, it actually uses up stored nutrients. Raw Honey is best for you, because the refining process sometimes takes out some of the healthy enzymes and antioxidants honey has.
Some studies have also shown honey helps in the producing more glucose.
Honey definitely has more nutritional value. For the same number of calories as sugar, it is often sweeter and has a much greater nutritional content. Including minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron, it is definitely the better option.
