Clothing made from industrial hemp is perfectly legal in the US. While actually growing hemp can get you in trouble in this country, there is nothing illegal about importing clothing and other products made from the plant. As a matter of fact, hemp is the only crop that can be legally imported, but not actually grown, in the US. The laws governing hemp in this country can be a bit confusing – but in general, a non-food or drug product made from hemp and sold in a reputable location should be perfectly legal to buy.
Industrial hemp and marijuana are not quite the same thing. Industrial hemp only has a THC content of 0.05% – 1% and marijuana will have over 3% THC content.
