Have you seen Chevron’s “It’s time oil companies get behind the development of renewable energy” campaign?

Do you think this is greenwashing? (Please explain your conclusion.)

    I don’t think it’s greenwashing.  Yes, there’s always a chance that a company lauding itself for investing in eco-friendly solutions will not follow through.  But I firmly believe that in today’s world of instant news, constant feedback and more involuntary transparency, large companies face a huge PR risk if they don’t follow through.  I think by putting themselves out there as a leader in biodiesel/geothermal energy solutions, Chevron has now put itself in a position where they HAVE to do what they say, or risk a huge backlash from worldwide consumers.
