While my story is not very adventurous, I have saved many trees, although from early on in their lives rather than saving a tree of notable historic significance. For Earth Day in elementary school all students were given trees to plant as a wind and visual screen at the community recreation park. That summer we had a drought and the trees faced near certain death if not watered. So, every time I went up to the park I watered trees for enough time to ensure their survival, and now the trees (white pines) are fully mature and doing extremely well!
