Whale sharks are incapable of eating humans. They do not have teeth but rather have large mouths that engulf gallons of water. They filter this water and push it out through their gills leaving behind the plankton they feed on. If a whale shark accidentally sucked in a human, it would be quite easy for the human to escape.
I was able to find one story where a man was swallowed by one, but other than that, no. They aren’t a danger to humans as they feed on krill.
