Many of the major solar farms being built in California are not set for completion until the middle of the current decade. The two major ones in production at the moment are going to be in the counties of Riverside and San Bernardino. Riversides will be named Desert Sunlight and will have a 250 megawatt capacity. The second in San Bernardino will be a 300 mw facility called Stateline. Both facilities are photovoltaic, meaning they will not tap the water supply and provide electricity without an intermediate source. Combined they will be able to power 170,000 California homes.
