Have we found out what dangerous levels of radiation are yet?

Oh yes. This is a heavily studied subject. The “danger” of radiation is a factor of the dose and length of exposure, and standards have been set for acceptable background levels (what you get when you eat a banana for example or get an x-ray) as well as for those that work with radiation. Rad workers are actually heavily monitored by their workplaces, at least here in the U.S. to ensure that they do not go above their “alloted” yearly allowance.
