Terrace farming is very uncommon in the US, but Colorado does have traces of terrace farming, in the Mesa Verde National Park within the Wetherrill Mesa.  Terrace farming is a practice that typically is used in locations where flat expanses are not available for farming.  Terrace farms can be found in China, Vietnam, India, and several other countries.
