Terrace farming was not a very common agricultural technique in North America, although there is a great example of North American terrace farming at Mesa Verde National Park where native peoples lived in cliffside dwellings.
Terrace farming was a more popular practice among Incan people of Central and South America. The Inca used terrace farming to grow potatoes, their staple crop.
