Yes, there have. Numerous studies have been done researching the impact of airborne and water based pollution and how they can lead to birth defects and certain cancers. Chemical waste pollution has been proven to be the main cause of these defects. Links to birth defects from fracking, chemical disposal, and gasoline creation have all been linked to birth defects as well. It is said that every 30 seconds a child in China is born with a birth defect because of chemical pollution that has greatly increased.
