Rain and flooding will increase because of higher sea levels from glacial melting. The sea levels going up will also increase the amount of category 2 and 3 storms. The century will see a rise of 4-7 degrees in global temperatures, with a 1-2 degree rise by 2030.
Currently, wild fires, droughts, and rain storms are the results of global warming. In places like Australia, it has become so rampant (a nine year drought is in effect) that farms are failing, and familial break-ups and suicide rates are on the rise.
This is still under debate. While there is little doubt that Climate Change WILL affect weather patterns, scientists are still trying to see if it is already happening. Some believe that the devastating hurricane Katrina can be attributed to climate change.
