Have the net populations of major cities grown or shrank this last decade?

Actually, the populations of major cities have grown or shrank based on the city, and there doesn’t seem to be a strong trend either way.  The total population of the U.S. has grown, but some individual cities’ are shrinking.  There are some cities like New Orleans where the population has dramatically shrank from 485,000-311,000 people, but  New York has increased from 8,008,000- 8,364,000. Philadelphia and Detroit both decreased, but Columbus, Los Angeles, and Phoenix all grew.  I attached a link that includes all of the major cities in the US so you can take a look for yourself.
