Have countries been able to reverse the structural adjustments imposed on them by the IMF and World Bank?

Unfortunately, the IMF has a bad habit of endorsing countries that are under the rule of a militar dictatorship. While their rational is sound, running off the idea that it is almost impossible to create democracy without a stable economy, there are also cases when, upon recieving funds from the IMF, democratic countries have fallen into military dictatorships. And since military dictatorships are hardly the most stable of governments to begin with, the structural adjustments have been reversed occasionally, as coups and other methods effect what a government chooses to us the funds and land for.

    I hope this helped!
