I don’t see anything that says they have directly hurt normal honey bees, but indirectly they have. They do compete against normal honey bees for nectar and have caused 60-70% reduction in their honey production. They will sometimes even interbreed. Those inter-species offspring are less efficient at pollination and producing honey, and often hybrids find it hard to breed again.
