Has putting robots in our car manufacturing plants made them more eco friendly?

I would say no, since it takes time, money, energy and resources to build the robots. There is probably a large footprint from just the creation of these machines. It might be more efficient in the long run because they can be more reliable than a human beings who can make errors and mistakes. But it puts people out of jobs, and immediately has a negative energy impact, plus those machines will require maintenance, also using more energy. So, it seems to have both negative and positive effects on the environment, although, I’d say that the negative is slightly outweighing the positive.
