Has Obama’s plan for climate change changed much since he got into office?

According to an October, 2010 Rolling Stones article, President Obama’s focus is on an energy policy emphasising the over-reliance of fossil fuel. He is also promoting new investments in energy efficiency and renewable technology using the federal stimulus bill.  President Obama commented that he will put his whole presidency behind climate change, but feels change must be done in “chunks rather than comprehensive omnibus legislation.”

As of the beginning of November, President Obama dropped the plan to limit global warming gases.  However, this does not necessarily mean that he is giving up on the environment altogether.  Instead, he is looking “for other means to address this problem.”  He also said that he is interested in finding solutions that do not hurt the economy.  This is quite a different stance on the environment when compared to Obama’s original cap-and-trade plan.
