A civil war in the late 70’s virtually destroyed the natural habitat of Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park. While it used to be teeming with wildlife, the war left it bare of life. Thanks to efforts from the American non-profit Carr Foundation, wildlife is being reintroduced to this formerly wildlife rich refuge. Importantly, with the return of the animals comes the return of the tourists.
