Has McDonald’s improved its image since the 80’s when “The Hamburger Connection: How Central America’s Forests Become North America’s Hamburgers” first came out?

This is a really difficult question to answer, especially since the book you are referring to came out in the 1980’s, and doesn’t seem to be too terribly popular anymore. Judging how McDonald’s reputation has changed based on this one publication may just be impossible. The reputation of the restaurant chain fluctuates constantly, every time they are revealed for being unhealthy or release a new salad!

However, McDonald’s has taken a big hit in reputation since the 2004 film “Super Size Me” came out. They actually stopped offer the “super size” due to the backlash from the film, and have floundered to try to seem healthier since then.
