All the research I could find indicates that average indoor air quality is not related to time. Indoor air is affected by the age of the building, materials used to make the building, number of people inside, and what the building is being used for. If you average all the buildings in America together, you won’t see an increase or decrease over time unless one of the variables mentioned above change.
