Has Iceland killed more whales than Japan this year?

Despite efforts to curb whaling, there are still around 1,400 whales killed each year. Recently, Iceland raised its quota of whales killed each year to 250. In 2007, whalers in Japan killed 725 Minke, 50 Bryde, 100 Sei, 10 Sperm, and 50 Humpback wales. Although this does not give the number of whales killed today to an exact number, it gives an idea of these two nations’ whaling habits.
