Many places throughout the country (and world) are experiencing extreme water shortagess due to population increase and climate change. However, Americans don’t realize water is used for just about everything from electricity to making plastic bottles (for one pound of plastic it takes 24 gallons). On average, Americans use about 1,189.3 gallons per day. The World Bank states that more than 2 billion people don’t have access to clean or any water, while 80 countries are now experiencing a shortage.
