Has Greenpeace made any progress in making bottom trawling illegal?

Greenpeace is responmsible for protests against the action, but on a legal level, not a whole lot of ground has been gained. Protests, such as surrounding the offending vessels with inflatable boats and signs, preventing them from doing their job, are the actions taken by Greenpeace.

Meanwhile, The European Commission is proposing a series of laws to stop the bottom trawling companies, most of which involve putting limitations on the depths that companies could fish and demanding that they concur with UN’s standards of practices.
